Meet GLX Digital's Lead for EMEA Enterprise Accounts, David Martinich

David Martinich, GLX Digital’s Lead of EMEA Enterprise Accounts, has always been driven by the desire to make a meaningful impact, whether volunteering in his community, solving complex business challenges, or leading the opening of the company’s latest offshore office in the Middle East.

It might not be your average childhood aspiration, but from as young as he can recall, David Martinich has been motivated by a desire to make a lasting impact and contribute to his community. “For me, any chosen career path was about building capacity, whether that be physical infrastructure, human capital, or cultural networks,” he recalls.

Before joining GLX Digital, David honed these skills in his family’s business, which spans road transport, horticulture, and property development. As his career progressed, this varied experience proved invaluable, particularly at GLX, where he has taken on roles including Commercial Analyst, Business Analyst, Implementation Specialist, and now Lead for EMEA Enterprise Accounts.

“Each role has brought its own set of unique challenges and opportunities,” says David, adding that a common thread has always been a commercial mindset and a relentless focus on outstanding customer service.

Now, as GLX Digital expands its global footprint, David is leading the company’s operations in the Middle East, heading up a dedicated office in Doha, Qatar. “It’s an exciting new chapter for GLX Digital, and I feel quite privileged to be employee number one in our first office in the GCC region,” he says.

The move aligns with GLX’s commitment to provide on the ground support for our growing global customer base, as already demonstrated in the APAC region with our Singapore and Perth offices. “It has always been a bucket-list item for me to work overseas, so I’m really looking forward to building GLX’s presence in such a large energy hub.”

The move will prove beneficial for the customers David services. “I believe it provides confidence and surety,” he explains. “If customers need support, they have an SME in the region who’s in the same – or a similar – time zone, and can be onsite at short notice. Our customer support has always been second-to-none, and this investment by GLX continues that commitment to our customers.”

Excelling in customer service harks back to David’s desire to build capacity and make meaningful contributions to his community. “I enjoy the problem-solving aspect of customer implementations because no two engagements are identical,” he explains.

“There’s always some level of change management required, and you need to bring end-users on a journey where they feel a change in workflow is in their best interest. This requires a level of intellectual rigor and keeps you on your toes.”

Being based in the Middle East, adjacent to Europe, Africa and South Asia, will be a win-win for David, whose interests reflect a curiosity about the world and its complexities.

“I have an active interest in public policy and foreign affairs as well as classical architecture, history, and travel. In a nutshell, I like learning about how and why the world is the way that it is.”
